About Me

Since my days studying conservation biology at university I have been contemplating a way to counteract the deleterious effects of the invasive european green crab.  They are voracious predators with no predators of their own.  They damage eel grass beds and prey on or outcompete many of the inhabitants of the near shore community.

In the years since my time in school I have worn many different hats including a decade operating a small organic farm.  It was then that I had the idea to try to apply fisheries’ pressure to the invader by catching them and converting them into fertilizer.  I have been attempting to catch them and manufacture fertilizer for about 15 years. In 2023, I finally got some traction and committed to making my dreams a reality.  We now have a registered and lab analyzed crab meal product ready for your garden and are currently wrapping up the development phase and getting ready to launch our liquid green crab fertilizer.

When I'm not trying to mitigate the effects of the green crabs, I spend my time with my family on our homestead in a coastal Maine community.  I’m either in the garden or in the barn helping the kids with their goats and chickens. Every chance we get we get out on the water - fishing, camping and an occasional hike.  I enjoy long walks on the beach, fireflies and conversations that lead nowhere.
